Lean In | Jennifer Waddell

Each month, we take time to get to know some of our church members just a little bit better. We hope this short interview allows you to lean-in and helps us all know one another better and grow together as a body of believers.

Tell us a little bit about you and your family.

My husband Wayne and I met at UA and have been married for 35 years. We have 5 kids: Brant who is married to Kate and father to baby William; Trent who is married to Katie; Witt who is 23, and Grace who is 18 and a senior at Northridge. We have a daughter in heaven who would be 29. She died of leukemia at 20 months. Wayne and I were on staff with CRU/AIA right out of college. He has also worked in real estate and is a county deputy. I have worked with college students for 37 years. I presently work with Athletes in Action at UA.

Can you share one way that God has been faithful to you recently or something he is teaching you?

I work for a parachurch organization, and we raise our own funds to do ministry. Our church partners with me and I am so grateful. Since COVID in March, I have had 2 large partners give a second time this year to make sure that I have what I need. God has been faithful for 37 years to provide through so many generous people.

How can we be praying for you as you head into the fall semester?

Wisdom as much of my ministry will be virtual still this fall. Since I work with athletes, the coaches are being very careful and limiting exposure to their teams.

Also that God would impress on the hearts of the girls I disciple how this is an opportunity for them to step up and reach out to their teammates and lead spiritually.
