Trinity Church: A Monument or a Movement

Our Theme Verse: Colossians 1:6 - All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all its truth.

We want to see a movement of the liberating gospel of grace launched in our community and throughout the world as every member becomes a model, a minister, a manager, and a messenger.

The natural life cyle of a church consists of: man, movement, machinery, and monument. How easy it is for a church like ours to start to drift and forget its purpose and lose its missional edge. We at Trinity Church are not immune! What are those things that can lead a church like ours to become a monument? In the history of the church, what are those things that have typically arrested the movement of the gospel?

There are multiple factors that can arrest the movement of the gospel and lead a church to become a monument. The seven churches of Revelation reveal that:
  • Losing your first love for Jesus Christ arrests the movement of the gospel and leads a church to become a monument.
  • Suffering and persecution can arrest the movement of the gospel and cause a church to become a monument.
  • Doctrinal compromise arrests the movement of the gospel and leads to a church becoming a monument.
  • Moral compromise arrests the movement of the gospel and causes a church to become a monument.
  • Rampant hypocrisy arrests the movement of the gospel and causes a church to become a monument.
  • A lukewarm faith arrests the movement of the gospel and leads a church to become a monument.
  • Times of testing and trials can arrest the movement of the gospel, but just like the church at Philadelphia, the Lord has set before us an OPEN DOOR FOR MINISTRY.
This movement will be fueled as we see more and more people becoming devoted followers of Jesus Christ. A devoted follower of Jesus the Messiah is …
  • a model
  • a minister
  • a manager
  • a messenger
