Membership
What are the basic commitments of a member at Trinity?
Becoming a member of a church is similar to marriage in that, when you join, you are publicly telling the Lord and others about your commitment and how you desire to maintain it. If God has called you to join our fellowship of believers, then you are publicly committing yourself:
To serve Christ and His Kingdom.
To love and care for your fellow family members at Trinity.
To live as a faithful steward of the spiritual gifts, material possessions, physical energy and time that God has given you.
Of course, we are all so inconsistent that we can never hope to keep any commitment apart from the grace of Jesus Christ, but here is what these commitments look like in action...
To daily enjoy the Lord through time in His word and prayer.
To attend faithfully the worship services.
To uphold the needs of the church and its members in regular prayer.
To seek a place of active service in the church.
To give sacrificially to God's work, realizing that God tells us to give generously, proportionally, and sacrificially.
To endeavor by word and by prayer to lead others to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
To submit to and honor those leaders whom God raises up to direct the affairs of the church, so long as they do not violate the clear direction of the Word of God.
To pursue and pray for harmony and peace in the church by working to resolve conflict when it happens.
To participate in the congregational meetings of the church.
