History

The History of Trinity:  2008 serves as Trinity Church’s 17th anniversary.

August 1991 –  Trinity began meeting as a “Living Room” Bible study with a core group of six adults:  Dave and Barbara Masoner, Ben and Cindy Lucy, and Stephen and Susan Fitts. Please see the adjacent picture for this faith-filled group with their new pastor Joseph Wheat and his wife Gina.

Our Founding FathersOur Founding Fathers

1991 – The core group called A. Joseph Wheat to serve as the first pastor of Trinity.

July 1992 – Organized as a particular church of Warrior Presbytery with its own elder board.

November 1992 – Services were moved to the Focus on Senior Citizens Building in downtown Tuscaloosa.

January 1995 – Trinity moved into her first ‘church’ building, renting the recently vacated University Church of Christ building on University Blvd.

1996 – Trinity purchased the Heritage Funeral Home property behind Central High School and remodeled the building.

2005 – In the Fall of 2005, Trinity sold this property and began meeting at ACA while planning its new facilities to be built on its new Rice Mine Road property.

2008 - Please see photo gallery for construction progress.
